[origin: EP0465789A1] The printing unit of an offset printing machine is intended for executing a flying printing plate exchange. It has two plate cylinders (10, 11) which are used alternately and to which an inking unit and a damping unit (20) are assigned. The two plate cylinders interact with a blanket cylinder (1) and a back pressure cylinder (2), between which the web (9) of printing carrier is guided. The blanket cylinder has an eccentric bearing constructed in such a way that three different positions can be set, in which, for applying a printing image to the web of printing carrier, the blanket cylinder can optionally be set against one of the two plate cylinders or removed from both plate cylinders and the back pressure cylinder. The printing unit is arranged so that it can optionally be set against one of the two plate cylinders or removed therefrom. <IMAGE>
