[origin: EP0465807A2] A rotary vane compressor in which the lubricating oil is kept separate from the pressurized fluid. The compressor comprises a stator (10) defining a chamber (14) delimited by a cylindrical wall in which a hollow rotor (15) eccentrically rotates; the rotor (15) is provided with vanes (19) sliding in corresponding longitudinal slots (18). Cam means (29) are provided within the hollow rotor (15) to cause the vanes (19) to slide radially and to hold their edge in very close proximity to the internal wall of the stator chamber (14). <IMAGE>
