[origin: US5115791A] The invention concerns a crankcase or cylinder block for an internal combustion engine of any type, for example, of the V or in-line cylinder type. The upper half of the crankcase comprises internal conduits which connect the upper part of the crankcase with the lower compartments separating the crankshaft bearings, these conduits making possible the exhaust of crankcase gases and the recycling of the engine oil and opening into a chamber of a flat shape, with said chamber and said internal conduits forming an integral as-cast system. The invention applies in particular to the automotive industry.

L'invention concerne un carter ou bloc-cylindres pour un moteur à combustion interne de type quelconque, par exemple du type à cylindres en V ou en ligne. Ce carter supérieur (1) comporte des conduits internes (7, 8) qui relient la partie supérieure (143) du carter à des compartiments inférieurs (5) séparant des paliers (12) de vilebrequin, ces conduits permettant l'évacuation des gaz du carter et le recyclage de l'huile moteur et débouchant dans une chambre (9) de forme aplatie, cette chambre et les conduits internes formant un circuit (C) venu de fonderie.
