[origin: EP0466644A1] In a process for producing an aluminium or aluminium-alloy strip with a roughened surface, especially for lithographic printing plates, the strip is produced in a conventional manner by hot and/or cold rolling, starting from a rolling slab. The last rolling pass is carried out using a roll machined to give the desired surface topography and roughness of the strip and with a small pass reduction.
