[origin: EP0467025A2] The present invention relates to light-weight gypsum-based moulds, patterns and dies which are suitable in particular for the automotive, aircraft and shipbuilding industry and the sanitary and building sector, and to a process for their production. The essential characteristic of the invention is that absorptive, resilient reinforcing materials which are impregnated with a low-viscosity gypsum slurry and removed from the mould after setting are used for the production of the laminates. Particularly suitable reinforcing materials are fleeces and glass fibre mats. The moulds, patterns and dies produced by this process are particularly light but nevertheless very stable.
