[origin: EP0467231A1] In an electrical half-shell connector, especially a half-shell earth-contact connector, which consists of a connector bridge and a pair of mutually connected plastic half shells, which are constructed in a mutually complementary manner, for covering the connector bridge, the plastic half-shells and the connector bridge (with its contact and connection pins) are constructed in a mutually complementary manner such that the plane formed by the contact and connection pins lies at right angles to the separating plane of the plastic half-shells. This results in increased mechanical strength and, in consequence, increased electrical safety. <IMAGE>
