[origin: EP0467236A1] An underframe (2) for a table has a table substructure (4) and foot frames (6) which can be arranged at the end sides. Arranged in the connecting region between the table substructure (4) and the foot frames (6) are support rails (24) which run parallel to the end sides of the underframe (2) for the table and have insertion openings (28, 30, 32, 34) for support regions (12, 14) on the foot frame side and cross beams (20, 22) on the underframe side. The connection between the support rails (24), the cross beams (20, 22) on the underframe side and the support regions (12, 14) on the foot frame side is effected in the manner of a framework junction so that the entire table underframe (2) is exceptionally stable whilst appearing to be of a light construction. <IMAGE>
