Abstract (en)
The venting of cooling chambers, e.g. for cooling the motor of a dirty water pump, is performed according to the prior art by means of a venting pipe (8) running through the cooling chamber (3) from top to bottom. In the case of pumps which draw the coolant (6) off via a coolant feed (4) from the pump chamber (7) and return it into the pump chamber (7) via a coolant return (5), there is the risk that the inside of the venting pipe (8) will become clogged by the possibly fouled conveyed medium which is identical with the coolant (6), thereby rendering proper venting impossible. It is therefore proposed to provide the upper end (9) of the venting pipe (8) with an automatically functioning valve (10) which under the effect of coolant (6) flowing into the venting pipe (8) automatically closes and opens when the coolant level drops below the upper end (9) of the venting pipe (8). <IMAGE>

Die Entlüftung von Kühlkammern, z.B. zur Motorkühlung einer Schmutzwasserpumpe, erfolgt nach dem Stand der Technik mit Hilfe eines die Kühlkammer (3) von oben nach unten durchlaufendes Entlüftungsrohr (8). Bei Pumpen, die das Kühlmittel (6) über einen Kühlmittelzulauf (4) aus dem Pumpenraum (7) entnehmen und über einen Kühlmittelrücklauf (5) in den Pumpenraum (7) zurückführen, besteht die Gefahr, daß durch das möglicherweise verschmutzte Fördermedium, das mit dem Kühlmittel (6) identisch ist, das Innere des Entlüftungsrohres (8) verstopft wird und so ein einwandfreies Entlüften nicht mehr möglich ist. Es wird daher vorgeschlagen, das obere Ende (9) des Entlüftungsrohres (8) mit einem selbsttätig arbeitenden Ventil (10) zu versehen, das unter der Wirkung von in das Entlüftungsrohr (8) einströmendem Kühlmittel (6) selbsttätig schließt und öffnet, wenn der Kühlmittelpegel unter das obere Ende (9) des Entlüftungsrohres (8) absinkt. <IMAGE>
