An audio apparatus is arranged to eliminate howls. The apparatus is provided with at least one notch filter (9) arranged across a transmission line of audio signals from a microphone (1), wherein the band-rejection center frequency of the notch filter (9) varies with time, so that generation of howls is prevented without deteriorating the sound quality. <IMAGE>
