[origin: EP0468158A1] A wringing device (1) has two rollers (4, 5) which are arranged approximately in parallel, are movable relative to each other, and between which a wiping cloth, mop or the like, containing a liquid, can be wrung out. Provided for the setting movement for changing the spacing between the rollers is an adjustment drive (7) with a rotatably mounted winding body (22), on which a sliding body (24) can be wound. This sliding body (24) is attached by one end to the outside circumference of the winding body and, by its other end, to a slide piece (16) forming a roller bearing. On the outside of the circumference of the winding body (22) there is a deflection boundary in order to prevent deflection outwards when the sliding body is subjected to axial loading. The sliding body preferably consists of a flexible, but shear-resistant material. The adjustment drive (7) allows large displacement paths with small space requirement. <IMAGE>
