Furnace for holding the temperature and for metallurgical treatment of a metal in the liquid state, comprising a closed container for liquid metal, equipped with a burner of the oxygen-fuel type, a porous plug at the bottom of the container for injecting an inert stirring gas, and opening means for introducing and/or removing metallurgical treatment products, characterised in that the container is made in the shape of a thermally insulated enclosure (1) capable of tilting about a support axis (XY, with two passages with a vertical component, one (5) in the form of a chimney opening into the enclosure near the vault of the enclosure (1) and used for introducing liquid metal and metallurgical treatment products, the other in the shape of a spout opening at the bottom of the enclosure and whose high outlet comes into a position for tapping off the liquid metal in a tilted position of the said enclosure, the oxygen-fuel burner (17) being mounted at the vault. <IMAGE>

Four de maintien en température et de traitement métallurgique d'un métal à l'état liquide, comprenant un conteneur fermé pour du métal liquide équipé d'un brûleur du type oxygène-combustible, d'un bouchon poreux de fond de conteneur pour l'injection d'un gaz neutre de brassage, et de moyens d'ouverture pour l'introduction et/ou le retrait de produits de traitement métallurgiques, caractérisé en ce que le conteneur est réalisé sous forme d'une enceinte calorifugée (1) basculable autour d'un axe support (XY, avec deux passages à composante verticale, l'un (5) en forme de cheminée débouchant dans l'enceinte près de la voûte de l'enceinte (1) et servant à l'introduction de métal liquide et de produits de traitement métallurgique, l'autre en forme de goulotte débouchant au niveau du fond d'enceinte et dont le débouché haut vient en position de soutirage de métal liquide dans une position basculée de ladite enceinte, le brûleur oxygène-combustible (17) étant monté en voûte. <IMAGE>
