[origin: EP0468943A2] A Strat style guitar is provided with a bolt on neck (108) using a mounting arrangement which provides enhanced rigidity, while at the same time allowing for unrestricted play of the neck's fingerboard (110) at the neck's base end to achieve higher octave capability.
