[origin: DE3913178C1] Described is an acoustic prospecting process in which elastic waves are generated in a body by means of air-transmitted acoustic energy in order to detect structural features and inhomogeneities in the body by the analysis of the reflected waves. In this process, air-transmitted acoustic energy is generated electromagnetically within the frequency range between 100 and 1500 Hz, the amplitude and frequency characteristics of the acoustic energy being selected according to the required penetration depth and/or resolution.

Procédé acoustique de prospection où l'on génère des ondes élastiques dans un corps à l'aide de bruit aérien pour identifier des structures et des défauts d'homogénéité dans le corps en mesurant les ondes réfléchies. On produit électromagnétiquement un bruit aérien dans la gamme de fréquences comprise entre 100 et 1500 Hz et on ajuste leurs caractéristiques d'amplitude et de fréquence en fonction de la profondeur de pénétration et/ou de la résolution désirées.
