Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0469298A1] 2.1. The feeding of packing material to packaging machines is a particular problem, in particular in the manufacture of cigarette packs, because of the capacity of the packaging machines. In the manufacture of multi-part cigarette packs, for example crush packs or hinge-lid packs, tinfoil and paper or cardboard are to be processed as different packing materials. The packing material is made available in wound form as reels (tinfoil reels 13, paper reels 14). <??>2.2. The packaging machine is provided with two reel stores (23, 24) for accommodating tinfoil reels (13) on the one hand and paper reels (14) on the other hand. The reel stores (23, 24) are supplied with the different reels (13, 14) by means of a common conveyor, namely an overhead conveyor (15). <??>2.3. The different reels (13, 14) are removed from the reel stores (23, 24) by a transverse conveyor (conveying spindle 51) and fed to a common reel conveyor (50) which conveys the reels downward. Said conveyor (50) transports the reels to reel units (42, 43) which are arranged one above the other. Here, the packing material is processed, namely drawn off the reels. <IMAGE>
