[origin: WO9013411A1] A sleeve shaped weld connecting piece (1) of thermoplastic material for connecting thermoplastic pipes (2) by means of a weld connection. The connecting piece comprises a heating element (4) embedded near the inside wall (3) and bearing connecting parts (9, 9a) accommodated in chambers (10, 10a). A pin shaped weld indicator element (7, 7') extending to the region of the heating element (4) is disposed in a bore (5) in the wall (6) of said connecting piece. The indicator element is provided with additional means (15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 27 and 27') enhancing the visibility of a welding action through heating element (4) at the outer side of the connecting piece, said additional means being activated by heat generated during welding. The pin shaped element (7) may consist of a metal pin (7) extending from the vicinity of the heating element (4) to the vicinity of the outer wall of the connecting piece, said pin shaped element (7) bearing at the upper side a sticker (27, 27') of colour changeable material, changing its colour under influence of heat generated during welding.

Est décrite une pièce de raccordement soudé en forme de manchon (1) et en matériau thermoplastique pour raccorder des tuyaux thermoplastiques (2) au moyen d'un assemblage soudé. La pièce de raccordement comprend un élément de chauffage (4) noyé à proximité de la paroi intérieure (3) et supportant des parties de raccordement (9, 9a) logées dans des chambres (10, 10a). Un indicateur de soudage en forme d'axe (7, 7') s'étendant jusqu'à la région de l'élément chauffant (4) est disposé dans un alésage (5) ménagé dans la paroi (6) de ladite pièce de raccordement. Cet indicateur est pourvu de moyens supplémentaires (15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 27 et 27') améliorant la visibilité d'une action de soudage, par l'intermédiaire de l'élément chauffant (4), au niveau de la face extérieure de la pièce de raccordement, lesdits moyens supplémentaires étant activés par la chaleur produite durant le soudage. L'élément en forme d'axe (7) peut être constitué d'un axe métallique (7) s'étendant du voisinage de l'élément chauffant (4) au voisinage de la paroi extérieure de la pièce de raccordement, ledit élément en forme d'axe (7) portant au niveau de sa face supérieure une étiquette adhésive (27, 27') réalisée dans un matériau qui change de couleur sous l'effet de la chaleur produite pendant le soudage.
