In order on the one hand to reliably prevent inadmissibly high temperatures owing to obstructions in the intake area in a compressor (1) by simple means and on the other hand to rapidly remove any such obstructions it is proposed that at least one auxiliary air line (8) be arranged on the intake side which can be switched on and off by means of a controllable shut-off element (9). The shut-off element (9) is preferably controllable as a function of the compression temperature. <IMAGE>

Um bei einem Verdichter (1) auf einfache Weise einerseits unzulässig hohe Temperaturen aufgrund von Verstopfungen im Ansaugbereich zuverlässig zu vermeiden und andererseits diese Verstopfungen ggf. schnell zu beseitigen wird vorgeschlagen, saugseitig wenigstens eine über ein steuerbares Absperrorgan (9) zuund abschaltbare Nebenluftleitung (8) anzuordnen. Das Absperrorgan (9) ist vorzugsweise in Abhängigkeit von der Verdichtungstemperatur steuerbar. <IMAGE>
