Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0470883A2] The present invention relates to an installation and method making it possible to exploit secondary petroleum reservoirs, the individual production capacities of which are insufficient to justify investment in the conventional petroleum exploitation devices. The installation according to the invention comprises, in combination with a main platform (8) equipped with the customary production means (9), a floating support (3) equipped with a pumping system allowing the transfer of the petroleum effluent, anchoring means (2) connecting said floating support to the sea bottom, first means (6) for transferring the effluent between said reservoirs and said floating support, and second means (7) for transferring the effluent between said floating support and said main platform, said second transfer means resting on the sea bottom. The method according to the invention is characterised in that the available production capacities of the main platform are utilised for the processing of the secondary reservoirs, the effluent being raised from the reservoir to the floating support by means of a pumping system and with the aid of first transfer means (6), before being conveyed towards the main platform by the secondary transfer means (7), without any separation of their constituents. The invention is used for the exploitation of secondary petroleum reservoirs. <IMAGE>
