[origin: EP0471331A1] In a circuit assembly for operating a fluorescent lamp from an AC network, for example an aircraft on-board network, a switch (7), which a control circuit (8) periodically open at phase-shifted switching times for brightness control, is connected between two lamp electrodes (3, 4). In order to compensate for undesired brightness fluctuations, connected to the control circuit (8) is a measuring element (10) which shifts the switching times of the control circuit (8) suitably as a function of deviations from the network frequency and/or from the network voltage and/or of the brightness from nominal values. <IMAGE>
