Abstract (en)
A grapple for internally grappling a tubular article [12] comprises an elongate member [14] being mounted within an intermediate member [16] and provided with clutch [42, 46] means for rotation therein. The intermediate member [16] is disposed within an outer body [18] by virtue of key members [52] extending into L shaped slots [48] on the outer body and having tapered means [32] arranged to cooperate with engagement dogs [60] extending through said outer body selectively to bias said engagement dogs [60] outwardly for engagement with said tubular article [12]. <IMAGE>
