One of the modules described above has buffer means for storing data transferred between the first controller system and the second controller system, and this buffer means is controlled so as to execute and stop the data transfer between the first controller system and the second controller system. Accordingly, a plurality of systems can be formed by use of the CPU modules as the division and each CPU module operates as an independent controller, makes the data exchange between the CPU modules simultaneously with the I/O data transfer, and thus improves the speed of the data exchange.
