Abstract (en)

A visor or shield plate mounting structure for a helmet comprises a supporting cylinder (10) formed on one of a mounting base plate (7) and shield plate (4) fixedly secured to an outer surface of a cap body (2), a pivot section (35) formed on the other, the pivot section (35) turnably fitted in the supporting cylinder (10), and comprises, between the mounting base plate (7) and the shield plate (4), stopper means for normally restricting a fully opened position of the shield plate (4) but releasing the restriction when a predetermined resilient deformation is imparted to the shield plate (4), and engaging means for separating the mounting base plate (7) and the shield plate (4) from each other when the restriction of the stopper means is released and the shield plate (4) is turned to a position past the fully opened position but for coupling the mounting base plate (7) and the shield plate (4) to each other when the shield plate (4) is set in its service range between the fully closed position and the fully opened position. A cover or screws are not required for mounting the shield plate (4) in a simple structure. Moreover, if the whole shield plate (4) is of translucent, an engaging state, etc. can be visually observed, and the mounting of the shield plate becomes easier. <IMAGE>
