The invention relates to a manually operable device for winding strips around pipes or the like, in particular corrosion protection strips which can be processed cold, which device has an apparatus base (1) which has running wheels (4) that roll on the circumference of the pipe, a strip roll carrier (3), which is supported rotatably and can be connected fixably to the band rolls (13) which are to be processed, as well as a brake (2) for setting the winding tension, a friction brake (2), which engages on the strip roll carrier (3) and is loaded by at least one spring (18), being provided as the brake and the spring (18) being connected to actuating means (19) for controlling the spring force as a function of the distance of the run-off point on the strip rolls (13) of the strip to be processed from the strip roll axis of rotation (16). Such a device is easy to handle and allows protection coverings to be applied to pipeline sections which are at risk of corrosion, even under aggravated operating conditions on or in the pipe trench, with a quality which satisfies the relevant regulations.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine von Hand betätigbare Vorrichtung zum Umwickeln von Rohren oder dergleichen mit Bändern, insbesondere mit kalt verarbeitbaren Korrosionsschutzbändern, mit einem Gerätegrundkörper (1), der auf dem Rohrumfang abrollende Laufräder (4), einen drehbar gelagerten und mit den zu verarbeitenden Bandrollen (13) fest verbindbaren Bandrollenträger (3) sowie eine Bremse (2) zur Wickelzugeinstellung aufweist, wobei als Bremse eine durch wenigstens eine Feder (18) belastete, am Bandrollenträger (3) angreifende Reibungsbremse (2) vorgesehen ist und die Feder (18) mit Stellmitteln (19) zur Regulierung der Federkraft in Abhängigkeit vom Stand des Ablaufpunktes des zu verarbeitenden Bandes an den Bandrollen (13) von der Bandrollendrehachse (16) in Verbindung steht. Eine derartige Vorrichtung ist einfach handhabbar und ermöglicht es, auch unter den erschwerten Arbeitsbedingungen am oder im Rohrgraben Schutzummantelungen auf korrosionsgefährdete Rohrleitungsabschnitte in einer Qualität aufzubringen, die den einschlägigen Vorschriften genügt.
