[origin: EP0471977A2] Pliers for crimping wire end ferrules have two jaws (1, 2) which are supported in a flexible pivoting bearing and can be pivoted with respect to the pivoting bearing via a drive (8). The drive engages on the one ends of the jaws (1, 2) and the other ends of the jaws (1, 2) each support a crimping jaw (19, 20), which crimping jaws form a single crimping point (16) intended for covering a cross-sectional region in a universal manner. The pivoting bearing (5, 6, 7, 26, 27) has a deflection spring (26, 27) for the flexibility of the jaws (1, 2) which is required for crimping relatively large cross-sections. A bridge (23) is provided, which bridges over the two jaws (1, 2) and is arranged at least in the vicinity of the pivoting bearing (5, 6, 7, 26, 27) of the jaws (1, 2).
