[origin: EP0472085A1] The invention relates to an ultrasound transducer which has a piezoelectric film (1) which is polarised at least in one area, a signal electrode (2) which is arranged on one side of the piezoelectric film (1) and an earth electrode (3) which is arranged on the other side of the piezoelectric film (1). Here, provision is made for the piezoelectric film (1), the signal electrode (2) and the earth electrode (3) to be components of a multilayer structure in which the signal electrode (2) and the earth electrode (3) are separated from the piezoelectric film (1) by a dielectric coupling layer (6 and 7, respectively) and for the signal electrode (2) and the polarised area of the piezoelectric film (1) to overlap one another in an area forming a pressure-sensitive sensor surface (9). <IMAGE>
