Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0472846A1] In a dual distributor for a VHF/UHF band having in each case one matching and differential transformer (AÜ, DÜ) in each case exhibiting a winding with a tap, the taps being conductively connected to one another, and a decoupling resistor inserted between a connecting point (P), which is optimal for achieving the greatest possible decoupling, of the matching transformer (AÜ) and one of the two outputs (A2), this decoupling resistor is a complex impedance (Z = X + jY), the frequency-dependent resistance (X) of which, forming the required ohmic decoupling resistance, compensates for the loss resistances and the reactance (Y) of which compensates for the main and stray inductances of the two transformers (AÜ, DÜ) over a wide bandwidth. This compensation makes it possible to determine the compensation current flowing through the complex impedance in such a manner that a high coupling loss exists between the two outputs (A1, A2) over a wide bandwidth. The magnitude of this coupling loss, of the bandwidth and of the circuit complexity can be adapted to the individual case by approximating the frequency response of the complex impedance to the nominal frequency response which is essentially mathematically determined. <IMAGE>
