[origin: EP0473304A2] A fire door leaf comprising a pair of spaced metal sheets (12,14) having respective outer edges which are bent back (20,22) towards the respective other metal sheet to define channel portions along the edge of the door leaf, opposed channel portions being spaced apart to form at least one recess (26,28) surrounding the door leaf, intumescent sealing material (36) located in the at least one recess, and a vitreous enamel coating on the exposed surface of at least one of the metal sheets. <IMAGE>
