[origin: EP0473908A2] In a drill or impact hammer, the grease-filled gear space (3) is to be separated reliably and permanently from the motor space. As a seal on the armature shaft (9) of the motor (8), there is proposed a conveying spiral (16) which conveys grease which has advanced towards the gear-side bearing (10) back upwards again into the grease chamber (3). The bearing (10) is preferably additionally sealed by sealing washers (11). The seal, according to the invention, of the armature shaft (9) is completely free of wear, does not generate any heat and requires no special surface quality on the sealing faces. <IMAGE>
