[origin: EP0473909A1] The invention relates to a container for holding a stack of articles, in particular haberdashery articles, such as shoe laces (50). A removal opening (6) is provided in one end side (2) of the container (1). In order to provide a container (1) which can be inserted in a sales stand and can hold haberdashery articles, such as shoe laces or the like, packaged in the simplest manner whilst retaining a simple construction, easy removal possibility and visually attractive display, provision is made for the removal opening (6) to be located with spacing (a) above the container bottom (7) and for an insert (10) to be arranged in the container (1) similar to an oblique plane. This oblique plane extends from the lower edge (8) of the removal opening (6) adjacent to the container bottom (7) to the lower edge (11) of the other end side (3) adjoining the container bottom (7). The haberdashery articles thus cannot slip out of the removal opening, but can easily be gripped for removal. <IMAGE>
