[origin: EP0474094A1] A wrapping sheet (8) is disposed on a roll so that marginal portions of the wrapping sheet extend beyond the respective side faces of the roll (6). A wrapping sheet winding apparatus (10) for winding the wrapping sheet (8) around the roll (6) has a pair of chucks (21) which are drivingly engaged with a core (2) of the roll (6) and rotate the roll to wind therearound the wrapping sheet (8). Each of the chucks (21) is provided with suction holes (24) formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof. <IMAGE>
