[origin: EP0475395A1] On the one hand, the invention provides an apparatus for reclaiming tobacco from defective cigarettes, in which there is provided coaxially relative to a recessed drum (7) a perforated drum (8) having receiving bores (14) for the defective cigarettes (16) to be processed, said perforated drum (8) rotating in the same direction as the recessed drum. Via a control device which comprises, in particular, as the essential part a control ring (26) connected fixedly in terms of rotation to the perforated drum, various pressure applications are then carried out via a timing disc (51) under the control of the work cycle, in order to blow the tobacco out of the defective cigarette and then subsequently to blow the empty cigarette tube (30) out of the receiving bore. Furthermore, a suction pressure is applied to the receiving bores of the perforated drum, in order, before the blowing-out operations, reliably to suck the defective cigarette to be processed into a predetermined stop position in the receiving bores. By means of a fixing device (17), the cigarettes are held firmly in the receiving bore before the blowing pressure for blowing out the tobacco is applied.
