[origin: EP0475892A1] The yarn brake for projectile and gripper looms has a flexible brake band (1) and a controllably movable brake body (2), the latter being actuated according to the invention by a servomotor which can be controlled by programmed instructions. A stepping motor (20) is advantageously used as a servomotor. This yarn brake is suitable for high-speed looms for which, for example, present-day cam controls are too slow-acting. <IMAGE>
