[origin: EP0475893A1] Impure bisphenol-A is purified by fractional melt crystallization in a falling film dynamic crystallizer. Surprisingly bisphenol-A is frozen out in its orthorhombic crystalline form. Whereas in normal melt crystallization thermal and catalytic degradation would be a problem, fractional melt crystallization in a falling film dynamic crystallizer causes no serious degradation, because it requires relatively little time. <IMAGE>
