[origin: JPH04288297A] PURPOSE: To provide a construction which allows a reliable function in a stable manner so that a clip can be operated securely by a method wherein a function part has a guide part, the clip is disposed so as to be movable along the guide part, and the function part is enveloped in an outer cap fixedly connected to the function part. CONSTITUTION: In the writing instrument having a cap 4 as a top member including a movable clip 20 and a guide part 38 for the clip 20, the cap 4, as the top member, has a function part 8 formed particularly as an inner cap. The clip 20 is attached to the function part 8 and the part 8 has the guide part 38 so that the clip 20 is disposed so as to be movable along the guide part 38. And the function part 8 is formed so as to be enveloped in a metal sleeve 6, as an outer cap, which is fixedly connected to the function part 8. Thus the clip 20 can be easily operated.
