Abstract (en)
A first image-forming system includes first and second lens systems which are disposed in this order from a light source to a deflector. The first lens system has a positive power along a second direction so as to converge a diverging light beam from the light source onto the deflector with respect to the second direction. With respect to a first direction being perpendicular to the second direction, the first lens system has no or a negative power while the second lens system has a positive power so that the focal point of the first image-forming system is located at the light source. Thus, a collimated light beam in the first direction from the first image-forming system is directed to the deflector. <IMAGE>
