[origin: EP0477576A2] In an impact drilling machine with spring-cam impact mechanism, the efficiency of the impact mechanism is to be improved. For this purpose, the curved path 7 of a rotating cam 6 is specially shaped. An ascending curved portion (27), which serves for tensioning a compression spring accelerating the impact member, is constructed with a gradually increasing gradient. This curved portion (27) is, in particular, parabolic. A descending curved portion (20) is curved such that it intersects the trajectories (24, 25) of a lifting collar on the impact member, which trajectories the latter describes at reduced operating speed.
