[origin: EP0477610A1] In a multiway, plug-in coupling half, holes in which contact elements are mounted are provided in a housing. In order to lock the mounted contact elements, a slide which passes through the holes and has a hole pattern matched to the hole profile is provided in the housing. The contact elements can be inserted in the holes in a first pushed-in position of the slide, and can be secured in the holes after displacement of the slide into a locked position. In order to achieve easy, conveniently operable transfer of the slide between its two pushed-in positions, it is proposed to guide an additional control element, which has control surfaces, in the housing. To this end, complementary mating surfaces are provided on the slide. These surfaces are constructed such that, in a first operating position of the control element, the slide is located in the mounting position, while the slide is transferred by the control element into a locking position, in a second operating position. <IMAGE>
