Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0477664A1] The housing of the protector plug, in which an overvoltage suppressor (28) is arranged, consists of a base-like lower part (2) and an upper part which is integrally connected to it via a film hinge. The upper part preferably consists of two halves (3, 4) which are pivoted with respect to one another to close the protector plug housing and are mechanically connected to one another by suitable locking elements. The lower part (2) contains retaining chambers (8) for contact parts which have a double spring contact emerging downwards from a base part in the plug-in direction, and a terminal connection emerging upwards therefrom. There are three identical contact parts (19) which are each connected via their terminal connections (21) to the connecting pins (29) of the overvoltage suppressor (28). The pin-shaped projections (35-37), which protrude from a distribution board (38), are used as mating contacts for the double spring contacts (25). The contact element (19) has an offset between the centre line of the double spring contact (25) and the actual connection of the connecting legs (29) of the overvoltage suppressor (28), which are located in a line. In the case of retaining chambers which are arranged offset with respect to one another, the overvoltage suppressor can be inserted in a straight line without deformation of its connecting legs in a manner matched thereto, if the individual contact elements are fitted into the retaining chamber in a specific position, rotated with respect to one another. <IMAGE>
