The invention relates to a method for making self-sealing envelopes, which each comprise front part (2) with two side flaps (3) and with a closure flap (4), and also a bottom flap (5) which runs in front in the envelope machine, the bottom flap being provided at its free edge with an edge strip (6) and furthermore the parts and flaps being cut to size, prefolds at the folding points being made and the parts and flaps being folded over and provided with self-sealing material on the inside of the closure flap and on the outside of the bottom flap edge strip. <??>The invention essentially comprises first of all prefolding the bottom flap edge strip (6), before it is folded over into the folded-back position, counter to its folded-back position, and running it through the envelope machine in this form until it is folded against the prefolding direction into the folded-back position for the purpose of further processing. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Hestellen von Selbstklebeumschlägen, die jeweils ein Umschlagvorderteil (2) mit zwei Seitenklappen (3) und mit einer Verschlußklappe (4) sowie eine in der Briefumschlagmaschine vorlaufende Bodenklappe (5) umfassen, wobei die Bodenklappe mit einem Bodenklappen-Randstreifen (6) an ihrem freien Rand versehen ist und wobei ferner die Teile und Klappen zugeschnitten, Vorbrüche an den Faltstellen erzeugt sowie die Teile und Klappen umgefaltet und mit Selbstklebewerkstoff auf der Innenseite der Verschlußklappe und auf der Außenseite des Bodenklappen-Randstreifens versehen werden. Der Kern der Erfindung besteht darin, daß der Bodenklappen-Randstreifen (6) vor dem Umfalten in die zurückgefaltete Stellung zunächst entgegen seiner zurückgefalteten Stellung vorgebrochen wird und in dieser Form die Briefumschlagmaschine durchläuft, bis er zwecks Weiterbearbeitung entgegen der Vorbruchrichtung in die zurückgefaltete Stellung gefaltet wird. <IMAGE>
