[origin: EP0477710A1] The present invention relates to an apparatus for continuously coating long profiled parts (1) with liquid metal, in particular for galvanising reinforced-steel profiled parts. It comprises a heatable coating channel (3) having an approximately horizontal longitudinal axis and a horizontally shallow cross section, in each case one pair of electromagnets (5, 6), above and below the coating channel (3) on the wide sides at each end and a feed channel (7) for liquid metal. Said feed channel (7) is preferably connected to one chamber (15) of a heatable two-chamber furnace (8). In the latter, the two chambers (14, 15) are separated from each other by a partition (11) with an overflow edge (12). Mounted beneath the two-chamber furnace (8) is a pump (13) with which liquid metal can be pumped from one chamber (14) into the other (15). <IMAGE>
