Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to an unwinding tension applying device for applying tension to yarn being unwound from a package formed by winding of the yarn thereon. According to this unwinding tension applying device, friction members (11) on which is exerted the gravity of weight (11a) of the tenseness of spring member are brought into contact with the outer periphery of the package (1) by moving operating members (22) close to the package, whereby not only the occurrence of kinky thread (snarl) and the entanglement of yarn can be prevented, but also since the operating members and the friction members can be moved away from the package, it is possible to effect the package replacement easily. <IMAGE>
