Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0478931A1] In an actuating mechanism, in particular a motor-vehicle window-raising mechanism, the output of which is in driving connection in a mechanism housing (1), via a driver (3), with a worm gear (2) driven via a worm shaft (5), automatic interlocking as a safeguard against unwanted return from an adjustment position previously taken up is possible in a simple but operationally reliable manner by means of at least one, depending on the direction of rotation, slip-type brake lever (4 or 5) held swivellably by one of its ends in such a way in the driver (3) mounted coaxially to the worm gear (2) that when driving is being performed on the worm-shaft side, it can be taken along, dragging, with its other free end in each case by the driver (3), via a braking surface (1.3) situated on the mechanism-housing side and coaxial with the driver (3) and, when driving is being performed in the opposite direction, on the output side, it can be laid with a self-reinforcing automatic interlocking action against the braking surface (1.3); the slip surfaces (4.3; 5.3; 6.3) of the slip-type brake lever have a curvature corresponding to a logarithmic spiral. <IMAGE>
