In a self-adjusting hydraulic valve tappet (1), which consists of a cup-shaped housing which has an external hollow-cylindrical wall (4) and a cylindrical guide sleeve (7), which is arranged concentrically therein, which wall and guide sleeve bound an annular oil reservoir space (10) between them, for the purpose of correct ventilation of this oil reservoir space at a point on a wall which bounds said oil reservoir space (10) and, at least during the phase in which a control cam (6) rests with its base circle against the base (5) of the valve tappet (1), is in sliding contact with an adjacent component, an opening (12) which opens into the sliding gap bounded by these components is provided. <IMAGE>

Bei einem sich selbsttätig hydraulisch einstellenden Ventilstößel (1), der aus einem tassenförmigen Gehäuse besteht, welches eine äußere hohlzylindrische Wandung (4) und eine konzentrisch darin angeordnete zylindrische Führungshülse (7) aufweist, welche zwischen sich einen ringförmigen Ölvorratsraum (10) begrenzen, ist zum Zwecke einer einwandfreien Entlüftung dieses Ölvorratsraumes an einer Stelle einer diesen Ölvorratsraum (10) begrenzenden Wand, die wenigstens während der Phase, in welcher ein Steuernocken (6) mit seinem Grundkreis gegen den Boden (5) des Ventilstößels (1) anliegt, in Gleitkontakt mit einem angrenzenden Bauteil steht, eine in den durch diese Bauteile begrenzten Gleitspalt mündende Bohrung (12) vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
