[origin: EP0479017A1] The object of the invention was to improve a flexible transport system of this type, in order, especially for a batch change, to guarantee a friction-free exchange of the trays (4). <??>This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that at least one supporting surface (8-11; 104) of a transport carrier projects, at least on one side, in the longitudinal direction of the partition walls (12-15; 105) of the supporting surface, beyond the partition walls by the amount of the width of a baseplate of a tray (4) for the displacement of the trays perpendicularly relative to the partition walls. The invention allows the mutually independent loading and unloading of the supporting surfaces and a very easy exchange of the trays and, in a batch change, requires no reserve cops or reserve tubes together with the trays carrying them. Readiness for unloading is immediately obtained independently of the feed of new trays. <IMAGE>
