[origin: EP0479030A1] In a frothing apparatus for evacuating the remaining air from containers (2) filled with a frothable liquid, a nozzle (12) for injecting a gaseous or liquid frothing medium into the containers (2) is provided above a conveying path (4) for the filled, but not yet closed, containers. The pressure of the frothing medium is regulated as a function of the degree of frothing. This frothing is recorded as an actual value by means of at least one measuring station (34, 35) and is compared with a desired value. From the difference between actual value and desired value, a control signal is produced to alter the pressure of the frothing medium to the control valve (17). <IMAGE>
