[origin: EP0479760A1] To put glass panels (1) in frames (2) in which the glass panel (1) is held between seals (3 and 4), of which one seal (3) is fixed to the frame (2) and the other seal (4) is fixed to a strip (6) capable of being locked to the frame (2), the glass panel (1) is displaced transversely to its surface, with compression of the seal (3) inserted in the frame (2), as a result of a pressure difference between the one and the other side of the glass panel (1) in the frame (2). When the glass panel (1) is thus displaced relative to the frame (2), the strips (6) carrying the seal (4) are inserted into the frame (2). <??>A device for carrying out this method possesses a mounting for the frame (2), said mounting being a surface element (10) in which at least one opening (11) capable of being subjected to vacuum is provided. <IMAGE>
