[origin: WO9014491A1] An extension ladder comprising at least two separate single ladders (10, 20, 30, 40) which in their starting position lie upon one another and are slidable in relation to one another is shown. One of the two adjacent ladders comprises guide means for the other. Between each adjacent single ladder there is arranged a line pull system comprising line guides (1, 1'; 2, 2'; 3, 3'; 4) over which the line (7) runs and changes direction. Such a line pull system is independently arranged between two adjacent single ladders, so that a four-part extension ladder has three independent line pull systems.
