[origin: WO9117314A1] The description relates to a dowel fitting device which can be inserted in a slip form paver (1). Several brackets (30) are pivotably arranged in front of the vehicle superstructure (2) and in front of the devices (3, 11, 12) for compacting the concrete (10), in the direction of travel. Dowel receivers (33) are located at the end of the brackets (30). In a loading position (33'), the dowel receivers (33) take dowels (31) from a magazine (32). After a pivoting cycle the dowel receivers assume a setting position in which, looked at in the direction of travel, they extend from the front into the region of initial compacting of the concrete (10) parallel to the direction of travel. The dowels (31) are pushed out at this point.
