Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0480071A1] Glutathione derivs of formula (I) and their salts are new. where R1 = opt. substd lower alkyl, R3 = H or opt substd. lower alkyl, r = OH or opt. substd lower alkoxy. The isopropyl esters of S-(2-methyl-2-ethoxycarbonyl ethyl) glutathione and S-(2-methyl-2- isobutoxycarbonylethyl glutathione are specifically claimed. (I) are pred. by reacting an acid of formula CH2 = CR'3COOH (11A) or CH2X - CHR'3COOH (11B) or their esters, with glutathione, and esterilying if necessary. X = halogen; R'3 = lower alkyl opt. substd with a substituent that does not react with SH.
