Abstract (en)
The opening (2) of the door frame (3) for the frontal access opening has, at least approximately, the shape of a rectangle, in which the sides (9, 10) form outwardly curved chords of an imaginary circumcircle around the opening (2) and the corners (11, 16) have a curvature which is constant in relation to the side lines (9, 10) but greater in comparison with them. As a result, the opening of the door frame can be considerably enlarged and nevertheless a relatively high border with the bottom edge of the door frame can remain between the drum interior and the exterior. The risk of items of washing falling out of the drum when the door is open is thereby minimised. <IMAGE>

Die Öffnung (2) des Türrahmens (3) für die frontseitige Beschickungsöffnung weist eine einem Rechteck mindestens angenäherte Form auf, in der die Seiten (9,10) nach außen gekrümmte Sehnen eines gedachten Umkreises um die Öffnung (2) bilden und die Ecken (11,16) eine zu den Seitenlinien (9,10) stetige, im Vergleich dazu aber stärkere Krümmung aufweisen. Hierdurch kann die Öffnung des Türrahmens wesentlich vergrößert werden und trotzdem ein verhältnismäßig hoher Rand mit der Unterkante des Türrahmens zwischen dem Trommelinnenraum und dem Außenraum erhalten bleiben. Dadurch wird die Gefahr, daß Wäschestücke bei geöffneter Tür aus der Trommel herausfallen minimiert. <IMAGE>
