In a shut-off and/or control device for the outlet of a metallurgical vessel, a driving rod (12) extends in an internal space (8) of a refractory ceramic shut-off and/or control element (4). In order to permit tilting and transmission of a rotary motion with as little play as possible in the region of the inner end (13) of the driving rod (12), the internal space (8) in the region of its base (9) and the driving rod (12) at the inner end (13) have cross-sectional profiles (21, 22) which deviate from the circular. They are in engagement with one another and rest against one another at a line (23) of contact. At least one of the cross-sectional profiles (21, 22) tapers, creating a free space (25) above and below the line (23) of contact and allowing the driving rod (12) to be tilted. <IMAGE>

Bei einer Verschluß- und/oder Regeleinrichtung für den Ausguß eines metallurgischen Gefäßes erstreckt sich in einem Innenraum (8) eines feuerfesten, keramischen Verschluß- und/oder Regelorgans (4) eine Antriebsstange (12). Um im Bereich des inneren Endes (13) der Antriebsstange (12) eine Kippbarkeit und eine möglichst spielfreie Übertragung einer Drehbewegung zu ermöglichen, bilden der Innenraum (8) im Bereich seines Grundes (9) und die Antriebsstange (12) am inneren Ende (13) von der Kreisform abweichsende Querschnittsprofile (21, 22). Diese stehen miteinander in Eingriff und liegen an einer Berührungslinie (23) aneinander an. Wenigstens eines der Querschnittsprofile (21, 22) verjüngt sich, wodurch oberhalb und unterhalb der Berührungslinie (23) ein Freiraum (25) besteht, der ein Kippen der Antriebsstange (12) zuläßt. <IMAGE>
